While it may look like I took a lot of steps backwards and dismantled 99% of this webpage, I actually learned a lot while playing around. On top of that, i was able to impliment a lot of things I learned through my code camp lessons! This background color for example makes use of HSL color coding. On top of that it was a deliberate design choice based on very rudimentary color theroy. I also played around a lot with borders, establishing and referencing class elements in the html/css files, and even found a lot of qol options which has made my coding muuuuuch smoother. I would say overall, despite failing in making the landing page I wanted, I was able to show that I understood the things I've learned up untill this point. That's a big win in my book!

1/17/25: "Bailey of all time."

Still chipping away at my lessons on freeCodeCamp. I just finished the fourth lesson in the "Responsive Web Design" course, and now have my first "test" to look forward to. I'm a little daunted but I really do think I can make this work! So far my mix of indipendant work and these lessons has given me a decent understanding of the basics. I've been able to trudge my way along and solve problems on my own so far! For example, I was able to space these two journal entries by including a small margin at the bottom of sections in the CSS file. These lines and dividers themselves are also a result of my newfound knowledge of CSS! I think it looks swanky, especially my little bottom line I have going on beneath the dates. Using HSLA I was able to set the color to match the default color of skyblue, and independantly adjust the alpha to make it more suble of a break.

Not gonna lie, it feels awesome to think of small things to do, and finding the solution all on my own. Like making the second paragraph and having it follow the same margin spacing as the previous one.

1/18/25: "Test day"

I spent about an hour or so on the 5th lesson today, which is a much more hands off lesson to make a survay website. It's really tough figuring this stuff out on my own, but it seems doable. I have a lot going on today in terms of irl commitments so I haven't had the time to really crack at it. And if I'm being honest, I was up waaaaay too late last night. I'll try to come back to it when I'm a bit fresher. Maybe I'll fool around with some stuff here and tweak my layout a bit? I think making the inside corners sharper would be a nicer look.

1/22/24 "Busy Bee"

I haven't had too much time to work on my lessons or this site, but I did finish my "test project". For as worried as I felt going into it, I was able to tackle it fairly easily. I had to look up a handfull of elements and the functions of some of the input variables, but I got there! I'm happy that I managed to complete it without being entirely stumped. Feel's quite good! I'll still be a tad busy the rest of this week, but I'll get back on the grind soon hopefully.
